Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority
Chester County Commissioners have taken the next step toward restoring passenger rail between Reading and Philadelphia in a joint effort with Berks and Montgomery Counties. Devon Station Multimodal Access Study
This DVRPC study developed concepts to improve walking and biking access to the Devon Station in Easttown Township. It also recommends land use strategies that compliment the rail facility. View Document
East Whiteland Train Station Feasibility Study
This DVRPC-funded study was examined scenarios for developing a new train station in East Whiteland that would serve passengers of SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale regional rail line. The study identified two potential sites for the stations and weighed the costs and considerations involved in each. The project team ultimately concluded that future planning efforts should focus on a site near Immaculata University. View Document
West Chester Pike Coalition
The West Chester Pike Coalition is a group of corridor stakeholders that has emerged from recent planning efforts along West Chester Pike. Both Chester and Delaware county staff have taken an active role in organizing and leading this coalition, which includes representatives from SEPTA, PennDOT, TMACC, DCTMA, corridor municipalities, and local economic development agencies. Enhancing the Transit Environment
This document illustrates how recommendations from the Multi-Modal Handbook and SEPTA's Bus Stop Design Guidelines can be applied to key locations in Chester County. The document includes case studies of conceptual improvements at nine existing bus stops intending to position these projects for potential grant funding or development/redevelopment opportunities. Chester County Ride Guide
The Chester County Planning Commission in partnership with Chester County Human Services Department, Chester County Department of Community Development, and county transit agencies created a Ride Guide showcasing Chester County's transit system. The Ride Guide serves as a one-stop resource to inform and direct transit users to the appropriate transit options that address their particular transportation needs. We encourage anyone who is an existing or potential transit user within Chester County to explore what the Ride Guide has to offer. View Website
Atglen Station Concept Plan (June 2012)
The Atglen Station Concept Plan identifies the preferred station arrangement, parking, bicycle and pedestrian amenities for a new train station in Atglen Borough. The Plan includes station renderings, a conceptual operating plan for SEPTA service to Coatesville, Parkesburg, and Atglen, a rail improvement plan, and cost estimates. View Document
