Meet Our New Community Planning Director
Posted August 27, 2024
We're excited to welcome CCPC's new Community Planning Director, Bambi Griffin Rivera!
Bambi attended the Florida Keys Community College in Key West Florida where she was the graduating classes' Commencement Speaker. Following her time there, she went on to attend Florida State University in Tallahassee where she earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees.
While living in Tallahassee, Bambi volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem working with children who were in foster care for several years. "I represented their interests to the court and worked to reunify families," Bambi said. "I was awarded recognition from the Second Judicial Court for outstanding service and served on the States Guardian Ad Litem volunteer retention committee." Bambi also volunteered for an afterschool literacy program where she tutored children who came from low or no literacy homes.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Bambi has worked in community development projects around the world, ranging from working with displaced populations to improving the quality of life for residents of unplanned communities and assisting in disaster relief, often volunteering to teach English as a second language to both children and adult learners.
Currently, Bambi lives in the Lehigh Valley and prior to that she lived in Narberth on the Main Line where she was a volunteer with the Narberth Community Gardens. There, she helped grow food to support the community food bank providing fresh produce for families in need.
"I am thankful to have the opportunity to work in Chester County, a beautiful county with such a rich history," Bambi notes.
In her free time, Bambi enjoys cooking, baking, and gardening. We look forward to working with Bambi!
